1. Fully appreciate as many moments of the day that you can. Take in the sights, sounds, and smells of the day.

2. Let go of past grievances and resentments. Stop denying them, and choose to live in the Presence of Now. By extension, forgive yourself and others for your gripes and complaints, and move on.

3. Notice how much time you talk about what happened yesterday, or allow dreaming about the future to replace living in the moment. Dream about the future while working hard grounded in today.

4. Please post your experiences here and risk having your beliefs challenged, rather than focusing your attention only on those that support your "personal point of view."

5. Tune into Thursday night's offerings – designed to celebrate our shared connection. Together, let's contribute to the content of that 30 minute interlude. I am open to suggestions and requests.

6. Post a personal commitment to make a fundamental yet simple positive change in your life. And, post how you are doing with that.

 

Thank You for Saturday!

It was a pleasure to sit in a circle with you all on Saturday! At some point, my gaze softened enough in the silence of the room – that I could feel it surround me and around all of us. I got a chance to recognize that we are all beings of light at the core.

The key for me was a knowing that we are here to support each other in subtle and inspiring ways. Let's continue to be mirrors for each other.

November 2021 — Shamanic Meditation Studies – Thankful! (Our next Circle gathering will be on Saturday November 20 at 3 pm Arizona time).

This is the perfect month to reflect on what we are thankful for in our lives – right here and now. And, how can we make even more room for peace in our lives.

1. Fully appreciate as many moments of the day that you can. Take in the sights, sounds, and smells of the day.

2. Let go of past grievances and resentments. Stop denying them, and choose to live in the Presence of Now. By extension, forgive yourself and others for your gripes and complaints, and move on.

October 2021 — Shamanic Meditation Studies – Change!

October 2021 — Shamanic Meditation Studies – Change! (Our next Circle gathering will be on Saturday October 16 at 3 pm Arizona time).

Here is my observation. Mostly, we are waiting on the world to change without really committing to change how we fundamentally conduct our daily lives.

Here are some simple suggestions on how to remedy our lack of attention in the present moment. Please give them a try and let's open a dialog about remedies and solutions. Let's start with a few obvious diversions.

1. When the mind is preliminarily paying attention to its own desires and needs, the body's ability to flow with change is significantly impaired. We actually stop breathing for large portions of the day. With attention planted in the presence of the moment, we return to our breath. And, we immediately stop suffering, complaining, and blaming life, and others for life's problems. The solution – put your attention on the simple act of breathing.

2. Fully appreciate as many moments of the day that you can. Take in the sights, sounds, and smells of the day.

3. Let go of past grievances and resentments. Stop denying them, and choose to live in Presence. By extension, forgive yourself and others for your complaints, and move on.

4. Notice how much time you talk about what happened yesterday, or allow dreaming about the future to replace living in the moment. Dream about the future while working hard grounded in today.

5. Post your experiences here and get off of "social media", and deal with your addiction to television." 

6. Tune into Thursday night's offerings designed to celebrate our connection. Together, let's contribute to the content of that 30 minute interlude. I am open to suggestions.

7. The third Saturday of every month is an opportunity to delve deeper into these matters during our group meeting. Show up!

September 2021 — Shamanic Meditation Studies – Knowing Our Filters!

Please note that we are scheduled to meet from 3pm – 5pm (Arizona time) on September 18.

We derive our identities largely from buying into conditioned movements of thought about life and our self-identity. That is why it is critical that we get to know who we are beyond the story of me; our made up "me" character that we still tend to feed. Let's make space for our eternal essence – impersonally attentive Conscious Presence. At the core, there is just awareness; aware of itself – without a story of self.

Vast aware presence is our unfiltered essence, right in plain sight, in the space between thoughts; that we have been conditioned to fill with commentary about self and life. Let's commit to discovering what is beyond the limits of that "story of me." And, to start trusting direct perceptions of life rather than filtered commentary about life. Let's explore how we mire ourselves in self-deprecating and time-bound cloud illusions.

Please reread pages 152 – 157 in "An Unfiltered Life."  My focus this month will be to consciously stop telling the "story of me." Please post what you experience when doing likewise, and open to what holds us together. What is the feel of "falling out of you and into one?!" What is the pull back to identifying with us versus them?

Please reread pages 101 – 104 in "An Unfiltered Life."  My focus this month will be on actively showing you how to take on the role of Spirit Guide, both in and without form. Try the simple exercises and post what you experience!

June 2021 — Shamanic Meditation Studies – Acceptance!

Please note that we are scheduled to meet from 3pm – 5pm (Arizona time ) on Saturday June 19.

I recommend maneuvering through each day by consciously shifting attention to the unrestricted silent place where each and every changing life situation takes place.

As changing life situations arise, focus attention on the unrestricted beingness of the accepting position itself, not on what is accepted or the "you" that accepts. Do so until you can feel the "you" separate from acceptance; fall away.

Making room for such unconditional acceptance allows understanding of changes to be complete, and impersonal; devoid of confusion and tension.

Please note that we are scheduled to meet from 3pm – 5pm (Arizona time ) on Saturday May15.

I recommend starting and ending each day by slowly bowing to yourself in a mirror. Lovingly put the palms of your hands together in line with your heart center. Slowly bend from the hips, while keeping your back straight, and the upper torso parallel to the floor.

When accompanied with the salutation Namaste (the God that I am, recognizes that I am), bowing to the being in the mirror exposes just such a simple truth. The fine art of bowing is a divine gesture that recognizes that we are all expressions of One collective self – so let's put our hearts into it.

Pause long enough to openly receive the loving invitation, and then slowly rise back up to meet the eternal eyes of the light being – in the mirror.

April 2021 — Shamanic Meditation Studies – Wanderings!

My body/mind went trough another trio of lightening strikes earlier this week. This time all three seizures were internalized within my current seventy-one year old body, but also felt and experienced by my fourteen year-old self.

Both versions of me had a heightened awareness of my commitment to live life as a healer. I had been thinking about the movie: "It's a Mad, Mad, Mad, Mad World," which I saw in my local movie the week it came out, in November 1963. I switched back and forth from first and third person perspectives, as I had remembered doing at the time.

Knowingly choosing to use my body/mind as a healing tool was an eye opener. The more I took in, the more there was available to use. Both then and now.

This month, I will continue to post a series of homework exercises designed to bridge the gap between our beliefs about what what is possible, and our own direct experience of the nature of reality.

1. On my YouTube site there are four videos at the end of my Shamanic Meditation Studies playlist. Please invest at least 15 minutes viewing "Third Eye Opening Binaural Beat." The point of working with this particular audio/visual is to allow the movement of life to come to, and through you! Take in the feel of being the object of attention. Part two is to sit in a room in your house and allow the flow of energy to effortlessly flow through. Post what you experience.

2. We need to establish some common ground. I will offer out exercises designed to stop looking at life from an egocentric perspective (similar to the conversation between Krishna and Arguna).  

3. While walking through a room, consciously allow the room to move through you. Who we think we are is totally unequipped to handle this shift in attention. Post what you experience.

There will be several sequential exercises to play with this month. Imagine that you are God bored with eternal bliss and you consciously decide to play a game of hide and seek. What bread crumbs have you left along the path to "remind yourself of your True Nature?" Play with all of the exercises as they arise!!
