A fundamental Confusion!
I have noticed that most people want to be at happy, but do not really want to know who they really are. The most important thing to realize, who we are, however, is not relevant to what we want. And, ironically, the more that we seek what we want, the less likely it is that we will find what we want. (As a side note, have you noticed that people that are happy are not seeking happiness?! And, not because they already have it, but because they stopped pursuing it after many years of failed attempts to find it!)
Everywhere that we look for who or what we are is a dead end. Who we are is not found in opinions, beliefs, concepts, memories, ideas, or images of oneself. We know that we are here, but we cannot find ourselves. How is it that we are who we are and not actually know who we are? Who is living your life? Who is reading these words? Who is noticing who is reading these words? Stop, and open to what is here!
How does this quote apply to your every day living experience. I am not interested in theories about this quote – what is your direct experience
