Nothing that is experienced as impermanent, such as a human body-mind, could exist independent of its genuine and permanent essence. Everything that appears in the world comes and goes within such a timeless Presence. Nothing arises onto form without it. Pure Presence entirely consumes the body and mind not only during deep sleep, but also in the quiet and still space between two thoughts. Unconditionally welcoming every moment as it appears in the moment facilitates an ever-deepening assimilation of timeless essence into our experience of the world.
As attention surrenders into the unfathomable depths of the eternal Now, it is clear that when we consciously and consistently stop viewing the world through a personalized mind’s eye, all divisive ideas are swept away by a lightness of being that assists us with consciously accepting repose in ever-subtly states of Presence. That straightforward and stead shift in abiding attention is also the impetus to allow the dualistic aspects of life to fall away spontaneously into a non-dual essence/presence.
The immediacy of each moment shows us that there is no independent “personal viewpoint” of life unobstructed. We inevitably come to know that our real and lasting timeless nature is the witness to all that is present. As stated earlier, consciously choosing to engage in life from a trans-personal perspective acutely shifts attention away from time-based distractions and away from our eternal existence to such a degree that we start to sense, and feel, and even see ourselves everywhere, and as everyone and everything. The “now” in this moment is the only “now” there is. And the “now” at the birth of “our” human form is the same “now” that magically appears as this moment. It is only a contrived idea of self that imagines that one eternal moment is different from another.
The timeless nature of reality is only elusive when the focus of attention is fixated on an idea of self that is acting out an illusion of separation from its timeless eternal nature. We are the focused presence that is perpetually awake and aware and appears in life as unified vibrations of light and color that illuminate the world, or as a sound wave that echoes as the background hum of the universe.
The more astute we are at resting in the timeless essence of the moment, the easier it is to balance awareness between the “personal” and the Universal. As we surrender ever more to the vastness of the Moment, attention is significantly less likely to reflect upon past experiences or to be concerned about the future. Beyond the egocentric realm of mind are many levels of trans-personal awareness where it is apparent that the world does not exist independent of us. We are not mere bystanders of life’s circumstances; we are the very presence that is limitless and totally free of restrictions.
We are what is aware of the passing states of mind. Comprehending that all forms that arise into the world are never totally different from each other emasculates the search for something to complete us. There is nothing as all personal going on during our transformation from experiencing life from a dual to a non-dual and dynamic vantage point. It just becomes apparent that we are the timeless self that we have sought. And unfiltered view of nature of self and reality, allows us to become more familiar with ever-expanding expressions of eternal presence.
Sooner or later we fully commit to letting go of what is known and consciously choose to surrender even deeper into regions of the unknown. Consciously appearing in human form evolves into a magnificent balance of form and formlessness. Fully opening to the timeless essence of now is inspired by our determination to be completely free of any limited individual points of view or perspectives, and instead, we rely on our clear, direct and unfiltered perceptions of life.
When we refuse to allow any movement of mind away from the present, we notice that the world is naturally still, and not a part of a contrived process to be still. Engaging in life without a highly personal perspective clearly shifts our relationship with life in a radical way. Now, life decisions are informed by the clarity and immediacy of the needs of the moment.
Detaching from old and centered patterns, such as an egocentric identification with the idea that we are only a body-mind, which is separate from all the objects that appear in the world, results in engaging in life from a much more loving and accepting perspective. How glorious it is to be awake and aware of such a powerful gift in this timeless eternal moment!
