I think the most important service involves feeling our light and sending it out to others. A loving smile, a loving word, anything we do In service to Love and not as an accomplishment of the self involves letting our lights shine. And our light may turn up the light of others, or light the way for others. To me that is the greatest service of all. Mr Rogers is a shining example of that.
Well put everyone!!
It was during my darkest times that I reached down into the darkness through surrendering into the darkness that Keshav Howe and Shamanism were revealed to me. And while there have been many periods of darkness in the last 18 or so years all have brought me back to my own light once I surrendered to that darkness. Betty. Thanks for the song lyrics of “hello darkness my old friend. “
I still have not seen my light visually, but to face the darkness head on without flinching, allowing it, yielding to it is strength, and I can feel the light of source, within myself.
Joe, you remind me of the song, “Sound of Silence.” Paul Simon
“Hello darkness, my old friend,
I’ve come to talk with you again……”
Carol. I remember that—you seeing your light!
Once I was sitting deep in a cave being quiet and simply waiting. I learned that by being still I felt no fear; I could hear the slightest sound, even a drop of water falling from the ceiling; I could see in what seemed to be total darkness; and, that my own light was the source.
I have found times of what felt like complete darkness to actually be the strongest invitation to let go into the light. I need a good reminder of how ridiculous my attachments to suffering are. That heavy sludge really brings up the “I really can’t fucking do this anymore.” Thank you darkness
