Disillusionment!
At the gateway to the core of our being, is an existential angst or disillusionment where most (99%) of spiritual seekers back off from, totally stop, or conceptualize the inquiry into the truth of our essential nature. Disillusionment is where we bump up against the gap between how lacking and limited we judge ourselves to be, compared to an idealized version of self or the progress of others. There is also the stark reality that who we long to be will never be achieved. Disillusionment is the proving ground or gate-less gate, where all ideas of self inevitably fall away. All along, the one that is looked for, is actually the one that is looking. How do you continue to avoid or push away disillusionment? What strategies keep you mired in patterns of behavior that really only replace one conditioned belief with another?
