When there isn’t acceptance of life as it is, and when I’m pulled into feeling annoyed or upset, I notice that “I” have now become an emotional shadow of a fictional me, which lives a fictional existence. I celebrate the noticing that we cannot remain asleep to our true and permanent nature. We are here to serve and be served by each other. Here; Now!
A bad taste in my mouth is often part of a “need or pull” that tries to control or direct “my perceptions.” Now, that funky taste is a life cue to let perceptions freely unfold without naming or labeling things, giving life back its freedom. And, my sense of relaxation brings me back to life, without a separate me. Circular flow of energy, as well.
Rain in the desert brought a new sensual nose awakening that was so sweet and fresh and …. well hello Sagebrush! you’re touching my nose hairs with such delight I had never known before. Namaste.
And to think you might have missed that had you not been in awareness!
And, for me, the long way around back to a place that I can never totally leave is often triggered by a smell, right in plain sight. And, a long-known but often forgotten knowing that there is nowhere to go and no one to be.
The bird population here in Tucson is testing boundaries with me. The lizards will snuggle up next to my feet; where they dine on the flies and bugs that are attracted to my “odor.” It’s kind of funny that the characters in my story of the hood here, are being sustained by mutually sustainable relationships. And, my naturally sweet smell.
I live in two places: one that I have been taught to see and one that is the real reality, the one that is there in the now waiting to be seen and experienced, not through the veil of concepts but with “fresh eyes,” here in this moment. A whole new world opens up when I am in awareness.
